Our Team
Teresa Cortez
As Director of Clinical Services, Teresa is responsible for ensuring that our clinic runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis. She also assists in the development and implementation of the clinic's policies and procedures.
Teresa brings over 12 years of clinical, administrative and legal experience to our practice. For many years, she worked in a clinic that specializes in Worker’s Compensation and Personal Injury Claims. She frequently dealt with insurance adjusters and attorneys, which has given her great insight into methods to advocate for our patients’ rights. More recently, Teresa worked as the office manager of a busy plastic surgeon’s office.
Teresa hopes to use her extensive background in pain management and aesthetics to optimize the overall patient experience. She is extremely passionate about patient care and holds the patient’s well-being as her top priority. She prides herself in her ability to build relationships with patients and believes strongly that our patients should be fully educated about their treatment options.
Teresa enjoys spending time with her family, the outdoors, road trips and karaoke wars in the car. She is heavily involved in her daughter and son’s sports activities. She also loves to travel and hopes to soon visit India and Korea. Her favorite food is Peruvian: ceviche, lomo saltado, and anticuchos.
Brandilyn Craighead
Brandilyn is a recognized healthcare leader with over 16 years of direct patient care, business development, and operations experience. She is board certified in assistive technology and complex medical rehabilitation. Her background in various physical therapy settings has allowed her to enhance the patient experience from a clinical and non-clinical perspective.
At Ascend Pain and Wellness, Brandilyn is responsible for optimizing communication between our office, clients, patients and business partners. She shares in Ascend’s philosophy that communication is the foundation of the provider-patient relationship. She is also an integral part of our marketing, growth and business development program. She realizes that having a strong team in place with a healthy blend of perspectives will ultimately allow for improved personalized plans and solutions for our patients.
In her free time, you will most likely find her baking, tending to her excessive number of house plants or attending a live music concert with her husband. You might also find her at the dog park with her Goldendoodle, George.
