Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a medical condition characterized by chronic widespread pain, fatigue, sleep disorders, memory problems, and bowel/bladder issues.

Since the symptoms of fibromyalgia are often confused with other health conditions, a diagnostic test may be required to accurately diagnose the condition. Blood tests are most often used to diagnose fibromyalgia. These can include complete blood count, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, cyclic citrullinated peptide test, rheumatoid factor, celiac test, anti-nuclear antibody and vitamin D, as well as thyroid function testing.

Treating fibromyalgia can be challenging. Recommendations often include improving sleep, increasing exercise, eating a healthy diet, and having an appropriate medication program. Medications used to treat fibromyalgia include duloxetine or pregabalin. Our specialists will create custom treatment recommendations for you, based on the symptoms of fibromyalgia that you are experiencing.
